Influenced
by such artists and philosophers as: Gustav Klimt, David Hockney,
Hundertwasser, Whistler, Oscar Wilde, Plato, Schopenhauer, and the
Buddha, to name a few, Mary Rose’s aesthetic aims revolve around
Beauty, Truth, and Impermanence.
With these thoughts in mind, Mary Rose’s abstract work is an appeal to the viewer’s senses, and instinctive emotions as opposed to the intellectual mind. Like in music, the abstract painting changes meaning along with the perceptions of the viewer. There is no grounding point, no permanent meaning, abstract is open. Currently Mary Rose Drescher’s work can be viewed in her Studio at the Fire Hall Gallery in Rossland, B.C. |
